‘’God’s Architect’’ is a nickname earned by Antoni Gaudi. When I stepped inside the incredible Sagrada Familia, I understood why. The church is awe inspiring. Rainbow coloured hues from the stained glass windows cascade through the interior of the building. One leaves this building in reverent humility. I could sit there for hours in wonder.
The Parc Guell is another famous landmark in Barcelona. It is a public park system with beautiful gardens. Gaudi drew his inspiration from organic shapes. I really enjoyed sitting in the gardens and admiring the beautiful mosaic work. I was inspired by Gaudi’s imaginative, colourful style. I created ‘Chameleon Chaos’ when I returned to Kenya. It features a lively cast of characters and accompanying tropical fauna found in my backyard. The colourful, creative style is my humble ode to this magnificent artist.
